IPCOM receives official approval of its Science Based Targets

30.10.2025
IPCOM is proud to announce that its near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This approval marks an important milestone in the Group’s sustainability journey and confirms that IPCOM’s climate ambitions are fully aligned with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5 °C pathway.

The SBTi is the globally recognised authority that assesses whether corporate climate targets are consistent with the latest climate science. Its approval confirms that IPCOM’s decarbonisation plan is both ambitious and credible, setting a clear direction for reducing emissions across operations and the value chain.

Under the approved targets, IPCOM commits to:

  • Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42.0% by 2030 from a 2024 base year,
  • 68.56% of its suppliers by emissions covering purchased goods and services, will have science-based targets by 2030.
  • Reduce scope 3 GHG emissions from use-of-sold-products 51.6 percent per EUR value added by 2030 from a 2024 base year.

While this official approval represents a new chapter, many of the actions supporting it are already in motion. Over the past years, IPCOM companies have invested in renewable energy, fleet electrification, and energy-efficient infrastructure, making sustainability part of day-to-day operations.

“These targets confirm that IPCOM’s sustainability strategy is built on science and action,” said Remco Boerefijn, Group CEO. “We are proud of what our teams have already achieved and of the many initiatives taking place across our companies. The SBTi approval recognises this collective effort and reinforces our role in building a low-carbon future.”

Looking ahead, we will continue this journey of decarbonisation together. We will build on local initiatives, expand renewable energy use across sites, invest in cleaner technologies, share expertise across subsidiaries, and work closely with customers and suppliers to achieve real emission reductions throughout the value chain.

This milestone belongs to all our teams. It reflects the hard work, collaboration, and long-term vision shared across the entire IPCOM Group.
