What is Firelog?

FIRELOG® is a brand new software developed by IPCOM and designed to register, monitor & document all fire-resistant sealings within a building into a digital logbook.
In a time where physical contact due to COVID-19 is lowered to a strict minimum, digital transformation of business processes and communication are becoming the new standard. This is why IPCOM believes to invest in digital solutions which help our customers to improve & grow their business.

IPCOM decided to develop the software inhouse with the help of our internal PFP experts & customers across different regions, because it will provide us with a competitive advantage as a distribution group. 

FIRELOG® is specially designed for installers, contractors, engineering companies, building managers and owners to lower their administration workload, improve their internal efficiency and provide a solid end result “a full-blown digital logbook”. This saves a lot of time and effort for our customers both on-site and at the office. It also allows customers to offer additional services to their customers such as real time monitoring of the actual work in progress, reporting broken sealings by scanning QR codes on-site during the lifecycle of a building (setup service contracts with building owners,…for several years).   


What makes the FIRELOG® so unique and different from other apps on the market?

First of all the application is developed in such a way that our PFP partner solutions are integrated with all documentation which makes it supplier/manufacturer independent. Most apps in the market are created by a PFP manufacturer and are mainly focused on their own products. This implies that each customer needs to enter and maintain all their used products & documents. With the Firelog we have solved this problem by allowing each customer to select which products/solutions he needs + add missing solutions/products which could be used for any project. 


For example if your customer would be installing Hilti products next to our solutions, they would be able to register these installations and upload the correct documents & certificates. Furthermore the standard application provides for each country a standard range of solutions per country, which are offered by our IPCOM local company, with the according datasheets & certificates.


Secondly our software is developed as an online & offline mobile website which makes it device independent. The customer doesn’t need to invest is new hardware devices and has the flexibility to use the full program at any time, with any device (tablet, smartphone or PC). The problem with many apps developed in IOS & Android is updating on mobile devices which require additional storage on your device and could give incompatibility issues with older versions.  
 

Furthermore the FIRELOG® has incorporated some basic features comparable with other apps in the market but with more flexibility for the end-user: 

  • Uploading building blueprints from images (png, jpg) as well as from large PDF files (>2MB) 
  • Creating unlimited number of markers on a building blueprint and assigning 1 or multiple solutions to each marker including installation images with according status (approved or broken)
  • QR codes can be created and used by the users at any time, without any hidden costs or additional purchases or pre-printed labels by the application provider (different from Hilti)
  • Customize the registered data/attributes linked to a service penetration sealing
  • Export both in Excel & Word the actual status with all registrations per project
  • Monitor todo’s for the installers per project and review & assign issue reports from scanned QR codes (from people without FIRELOG® access)
  • Users can download all the registrations with the accompanying documentation, photos, test reports, ... per building plan in a word file logbook which allows the end user to modify before sending to the customer.

FIRELOG® license model

The FIRELOG® is offered in 3 different license models: Light, Pro & Expert. It does not matter if you are a small or large company, the app can help anyone who would like to document all information about the fire protection solutions used on their construction sites, in a simple, fast and secure way. Regardless of how many people are working on the building project, you decide, depending on the version, who is responsible for which tasks and who should have access to which projects or blueprints.


New version released in September 2020
Continuous improvement is key to any good application. Our team takes on board all remarks and suggestions coming from the field to make sure the application is as user-oriented as it can possibly be. Recent updates of the app included new functionalities: users can now upload a large pdf file of a building plan and convert it into a high resolution image to assign markers on. It is also possible to download the logbook and indicate if you would like to download the blueprint in a high resolution image or if you need all data sheets of the used solutions in one zip file to send to the building owner/contractor.
