The damage can be caused by one or multiple factors, such as environment, temperature, type of material, etc. and can occur in equipment operating at ambient, low, and heated services. How to prevent intruding water under your insulation?
In order to address the issue of CUI the choice of the exact type of insulation is critical. As water retention, permeability and wettability of the insulation have a large influence on CUI, the insulation, which holds the less amount of water (or dries the quickest), is thus the one which will cause the least damage. The ideal insulation material should therefore have excellent insulation values, should be easy to handle, but at the same time should not absorb water.

Customized Pyrogel® parts by the Insulcon Group
Although available in standard rolls, the installation of Pyrogel® is even more efficient, if you use our pre-cut, customized shapes. Due to our large in-house CNC driven machinery, we are able to manufacture tailor-made shapes such as reusable lobster tails for elbows. On request, we can also help you with the engineering of the complete pipe work insulation and even mark the several layers during production, which makes installation on site easier for the installer.
