Insulcon’s hot spot repair: globally recognized!
In 2024, the Insulcon Group completed numerous projects, including those involving their long-established Hot Spot Repair (HSR) service. This service efficiently addresses "hotspots" in the refractory lining of (petrochemical) fired heaters while they remain operational.
A "hot spot" refers to a weak area in the refractory lining where insulation is missing, leading to unsafe conditions due to high external temperatures and significant energy loss.
Insulcon steps in by assessing the work, ensuring materials are available, and quickly repairing the insulation with advanced equipment. This allows the heater to continue operating safely and efficiently until the next scheduled shutdown.
This service is offered globally. For example, in December, Insulcon's team repaired a hot spot in a reformer at a major fertilizer producer in northwest Australia—an exciting challenge they proudly took on.
