Science Based Targets Initiative SBTi

IPCOM has committed to the Science-based Targets initiative (SBTi)

05.09.2023
This commitment will help us to reduce our GHG emissions in line with the targets of the Paris Climate Agreement, limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

Our Commitment

Within the IPCOM group we are engaged to tackle carbon reduction. Since 2022, all IPCOM group companies participate in an annual carbon footprint assessment. Based on the results of this assessment, we are trying to improve our carbon footprint and take initiatives to reduce our GHG emissions, including investments in solar panels, LED lighting, electric company vehicles, etc.

With the SBT commitment, we want to go one step further. “Science Based Targets” focus on the quantity of emissions that needs to be reduced in order to meet the targets set out in the Paris Climate Agreement, limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

This commitment is only the start of a continuous process. Moving forward we will identify opportunities, set ambitious goals and develop action plans in line with the SBT criteria. Our objectives will be assessed and validated by an independent SBT team and we will report our progress annually.

About SBTi

The SBT initiative is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments. The initiative enables businesses to accelerate climate ambitions and actions by setting science based reduction targets.

Targets are considered ‘science-based’ if they are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to well-below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.

Together we can build a carbon neutral future!
