IPCOM invests in future workforce

20.06.2024
With summer approaching, many eager students are preparing for a summer job or internship in which they'll gain valuable work experience. Within the IPCOM group, we invest in students and internships all year through. Why? Because it benefits both the students and our organization!

Which benefits?

Employing students and interns is a great way to invest in the future! By engaging students, they get industry exposure and work experience that they would not have accessed otherwise. Moreover, youngsters are the future of the industry. Developing strong and skilled students means that you’re contributing to a strong and skilled future workforce!

Engaging students also has great benefits for the company and the team. You get an eager set of hands at a low cost and a high motivation. Interns can focus on the project or tasks they’re hired for, with a quick turnaround time. They take pride in their work and will often go above and beyond their role since they have a lot more time to spend on the tasks at hand. Last but not least, perhaps you have a student out of the thousand who qualifies for a permanent position. In a scarce market this is a very welcome way to recruit!

Oscar Delgado

This is exactly what happened at Flexicel…

Since 2022, Óscar Delgado has been undertaking his internship at Flexicel, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Oscar holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and decided to pursue an additional Master's in Industrial Organization. After just over two years of internship in Flexicel and once he successfully completed his engineering and university postgraduate studies, Òscar has permanently joined Flexicel’s technical department. Congratulations to Óscar! We wish him best of luck and lots of encouragement to become another essential piece of the Flexicel machine.

Irene Gomez - Oscar Delgado

Early 2023, Irene Gómez started her internship at Flexicel. She is on the verge of completing her degree in Materials Engineering. Just like Óscar, Irene is actively contributing to the Technical Office, playing a pivotal role in the development and initiation of new projects and products at Flexicel.

The Flexicel team takes great pride in nurturing these young professionals at the outset of their careers, and has high hopes for their long and successful journey ahead.

Internship at IPCOM

Meet Gaëlle De Deurwaerder, a driven student in International Communication Management. She has spent several months with the central digital marketing team to learn all the tricks of the trade. In the light of this internship, Gaëlle also captured the subject of her bachelor thesis… She has been carrying out market research about the HVAC industry and how Diansa is approaching this market. We are curious to hear all about her valuable insights and looking forward to see her continued growth.

Students driving data management

During the last two years, Matteo Ballegeer has been supporting the PIM/Master Data team. Matteo is a Master student in Business Engineering - Data Analytics. As he is now graduating and starting a PhD, Matteo is passing on the torch - and his knowledge - to some new students.

Students at IPCOM

Since June 2024, IPCOM is having three new students on board: Tarik, Aymen and Victor. Tarik and Aymen will support the Digital team with PIM (Product Information) and Master Data management. This includes tasks such as collecting and storing data, but also efficiently organizing data and improving the data architecture. Victor will join the Finance team to support the further development of a Powerbi data model and dashboard analyses consolidating sales and purchase data from the IPCOM group companies. So all 3 students will work with data, which is the key to digital transformation.

Just like data plays a pivotal role in business today, so do students! Is your company ready to put some students/interns to work?
