New Innovative Heat Pump Noise Barrier by ISOPARTNER NL & Vaillant
Heat pumps offer a sustainable solution for heating and cooling homes, but the noise from their outdoor units can pose challenges in densely populated neighborhoods. To tackle this issue, ISOPARTNER NL, in partnership with Vaillant, has developed the daBo33 noise barrier—an affordable, stylishly designed enclosure that ensures easy installation with minimal impact on efficiency.
Affordable and Effective Noise Reduction
A noise barrier is the ideal solution for sustainable renovations with hybrid heating systems, especially in situations with limited installation options, space, or budget. It ensures compliance with strict noise regulations for heat pumps at property boundaries. Acoustic tests by AV-Consulting B.V. revealed sound reductions of 8.2 dB at 2 meters and 5.7 dB at 0.5 meters! This performance is achieved using high-quality materials, e.g. the Sonodamp S60P sandwich panel.
Color Options and Easy Installation
The daBo33 noise barrier not only reduces noise but also blends heat pumps seamlessly into residential settings, offering color options like white, anthracite gray, and moss green, with more available upon request. It features easy assembly that one person can complete in about 10 minutes using QR code installation videos. Weighing around 40 kg, it is packaged in two boxes for convenient transport.
Developed in cooperation with Vaillant
The daBo33 noise barrier was developed in collaboration with Vaillant to address limited installation space and budget in homes. Vaillant provided their aroTHERM pure heat pump for testing and development, as it is ideal for hybrid heating renovations. Besides the acoustic performance, also other parameters were taken into account in the development process, such as price, design, easy installation, and minimal impact on the heat pump’s efficiency.
Interest shown by other parties
Bosch has now joined the partnership for the noise barrier, and discussions with Daikin are progressing well. The noise barrier gained significant interest at the Energy Trade Fair, attracting several OEM companies, housing corporations, prescribing agencies, architects, and municipalities.
